HH Bespoke Spirits was founded by Shay Wood who is also behind the award-winning, Black-owned, bespoke boutique Harlem Haberdashery Harlem Haberdashery is known for dressing stars including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Notorious BIG, LeBron James and many more. They have an adorable shop in the city where they carry a mix of 90% family brands and 10% other designers. The store is nestled in a brownstone and pays omage to Harlem History.
As an extension of fashion naturally comes drinks, so Shay starte HH Bespoke Spirits in November 2018 featuring HH Bespoke Gin, Rum and Vodka.
HH put together, not one but 2 delicious cocktails for us -- one simpler mule and one fancier pairing avec Ginger and Yuzu & Lime.
Flowering Yuzu
Harlem Haberdashery Bespoke Gin is a remix on a traditional London Dry style gin, with moderate juniper flavors up front, which are balanced by an infusion of lavender, rose hip, beach plum and cranberry. Our gin mixes well with everything from a simple tonic water to stronger bitter or sweet flavors.
2 oz HH Bespoke Gin
1/4 oz Honey Syrup - (1:1 honey and water)
1/4 oz Creme de Violette
4 oz - Yuzu Lime Avec
Shake Gin, Honey Syrup, Violette, over ice and pour over Avec
Served in a collins glass - long glass over ice.
Yummy Rummy Ginger
HH Bespoke Rum (2020 Proof Award recipient) is an expressive blend of rums reminiscent of those produced in the 18th century, aged in both New American Oak and then once-used Bourbon barrels. The result is a distinct barrel rum extremely rich and complex in flavor, with hints of butterscotch, vanilla and other exotic notes that please the palate.
2 oz HH Bespoke Rum
4 oz Ginger Avec
1/4 oz - Lime Juice
Serve in a copper mug or mule glass over ice.
