We asked a craft cocktail bartender to create an elevated version of the classic-yet-tasteless Vodka Soda. In true bon vivant fashion, the bartender resorted to an infamous ingredient: absinthe. The anise-flavored spirit has enthralled many with the myths of its hallucinogenic properties (unfortunately, unfounded). While we can’t say this vodka soda with absinthe will make you go loco, we can say that it tastes a hell of a lot better than regular vodka sodas while remaining low in sugar and calories.

A Vodka Sazerac
2 oz. vodka
5 drops of absinthe
avec
6 oz. AVEC Yuzu & Lime
+A squeeze of Lime Wedge for garnish
Pour vodka over ice. Drop in absinthe. Add AVEC. Stir. Squeeze lime and drop  in wedge.

Did you know absinthe is nicknamed "The Green Fairy" or "La Fée Verte" in French? Absinthe got the nickname due to its eerie green color and alleged hallucinogenic properties that may make you see a fairy if you drink enough.
